Author Robin Theis will be visiting the Bryan Library on Tuesday, May 27th. She will be holding a book signing in Bookends Used Bookstore from 6:00-7:30 pm to promote her book, Surrendered Identity, which deals with the effects of rejection and how to overcome feelings of depression.
Robin’s personal struggle with rejection inspired her to write Surrendered Identity. As quoted from Mrs. Theis’ website, http://rogerrobintheis.wordpress.com , “My childhood was rejection after rejection and one disappointment after another. My sibling and myself were placed in a children’s home in 1965. After I was released I got married and started my own family. I had so much anger in me and it caused many problems in my marriage and in raising my children. The Lord worked on me through the years leading me to forgive those who rejected me.” Even though Robin found peace in her own life she was forced to look at the effects rejection has on others, when she lost her son to suicide in 2009.
Surrendered Identity shares more of Robin’s inspirational story along with tips on how you can overcome rejection in your own life. Copies of the book will be for sale at the program. Snacks and refreshments will be provided by the library. If you are unable to attend the signing, you can order Surrendered Identity online at www.tatepublishing.com.
