Jackie Boyd will be bringing Ike the therapy dog to the Children’s Department of the Bryan Library on Friday afternoons at 2:00 pm this summer. Children are invited to come and read to Ike or just visit with him and sit and pet him, if they wish. Ike’s visits will allow students to practice the skill of reading in a relaxed environment. Most children seem to have a natural love for dogs, and it makes them happy to be around them. Having a therapy dog in the library builds excitement about reading and is a great opportunity for children to improve their reading skills.
