The Stryker Library will be holding its annual Senior Citizens Christmas Tea on Friday, December 13th from 10:00-11:00 am. Come out and enjoy a time of good food and excellent company with entertainment being brought to you by the Stryker Kindergarten classes, who will be performing Christmas carols and sharing holiday poems for your enjoyment. Registration is required as there is a limit of 25 spaces available for this event. Stop in to the library or call ahead to reserve your spot today.

You’re invited to the Community Christmas Open House at the Stryker Library on Monday, December 2nd from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Come join the fun and be greeted by Larry and Lilly, the library lions. You’ll be sure to get into the holiday spirit as you listen to live music, take part in fun crafts and drawings, and enjoy the delicious refreshments, all provided for by the library. You will also have the opportunity to meet the real Santa and Mrs. Claus! So make sure you stop out and take part in an evening filled with laughter, friends, and Christmas cheer.

On Wednesday, November 27th, the Stryker Library will be showing the movie “Alvin and the Chipmunks: Alvin’s Thanksgiving Celebration” at 1:00 pm. The children’s movie follows the chipmunks as they take part in a play, help out a kitten, remember historical moments that shaped America, and so much more. This program is free to the public and refreshments will be provided.

On Monday, October 14 the Stryker Library will be offering a gun safety class from 6:00 – 7:00 pm, which will cover several aspects of firearms safety and responsible firearms ownership. The class will be taught by instructor Joel Werner who is a NRA training counselor, NMLRA Master Trainer, and a Range Safety Officer. Joel has taught over 300 personal protection classes, and has certified over 200 instructors for the NRA, 4H, and BSA. Having handled firearms for over 40 years, Mr. Werner will provide an educational program enhanced by his many years of personal experience.

The Stryker Library will be holding a community movie night on Tuesday, September 24 at 6:30 pm. To be played is, “42-The Jackie Robinson Story.” The movie follows the career of the great baseball player, and shows the struggles he faced being the first African American in the Major League. Rated PG-13, children must be the age of 14 to gain admittance, unless accompanied by an adult. This program is free to the public. Drinks will be provided, and viewers are invited to bring a snack to share with everyone.
