Haunted Library in Bryan

Are you ready for the fright of your life? Then head over to the Bryan Library on Saturday, November 2nd , from 7:00-10:00 pm, and take part in this year’s spooktacular “Haunted Library” event.  Climb up the steps of the Main Library and await your fate in the mysterious Carnegie Hall. A guide will meet you there and then lead you over to the West Annex building and to your doom.  You will have to make your way through the halls of the eerie basement and come face to face with the library’s very own terrifying monsters. As you creep through the ghostly forest or the petrifying morgue you’ll need to watch every step, for you never know what could be lurking around the next corner. In order to escape the haunted library you must first survive a mad scientist and the forbidden prison as well as flee from witches, werewolves, and Count Dracula himself. So take a walk downstairs if you dare and meet the library’s scariest patrons. You’re not the only one who wants to check out a book.

Meet author Bob Nailor

Meet local author Bob Nailor on Tuesday, October 8 from 6:30-7:30 pm at the Bryan Library.  Mr. Nailor will be presenting his new book, “Ancient Blood, The Amazon” which   he co-wrote with Jack Franklin. It is a story of a legendary evil lurking in the jungles of Brazil. Filled with action and suspense, this vampire tale is a must read for the Halloween season. The program will be held in the Bookends used bookstore of the Bryan Library. There will be a book signing along with refreshments. The Bryan Library is located at 107 East High Street. Meet Cookbook Author Marsha Baker

Come meet the Better Baker and cookbook author Marsha Baker at the Bryan Library on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm.  Marsha will be promoting her new cookbook, Love at First Bite which contains 202 easy family-friendly recipes. Over 100 of these fun dishes contain only 6 ingredients or fewer. She will be presenting in the Bookends used bookstore at the Bryan Library. There will be a book signing along with refreshments. Tour de Book Bicycling Event

The Tour de Book Bicycling Event is once again returning to Williams County. Sponsored by United Way of Williams County in conjunction with Williams County Public Library and Montpelier Public Library the Tour de Book Bicycling Event will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013.  This will be a 77 mile bicycle ride beginning at Bryan Library and traveling to every public library in Williams County. Registration begins at 8:00 am at the Bryan Main Library and the tour starts at 8:30 am. Larry and Lilly, the Library Lions, will lead the bikers to the outskirts of Bryan as a special send off on the tour. Libraries on the route will include: Bryan, Stryker, West Unity, Pioneer, Montpelier, Edon, and Edgerton. Riders can also ride from Bryan to Montpelier, or Montpelier to Bryan, which is the length of 10.5 miles one way, or 21 miles round trip. This ride will start at 11:00 am. Funds raised by this event will benefit the United Way Imagination Library, Williams County Public Libraries, and the Montpelier Public Library.

Children’s Picture Book Workshop (day 3)

The Bryan Main Library Children’s Department will be holding a “Picture Book Workshop”. It will take place August 1st, 6th, and 7th from 1 pm to 2:15 pm. Presented by artist Kristine De Leon and assisted by Rhonda Owens, the workshop offers the opportunity to develop the main character and design a cover for your own original story. Please bring your short story to the workshop. There is a limited amount of spaces available for this program, so hurry in to the library and reserve your spot today.
