Haunted Library

Haunted LibraryThere’s a “Nightmare on High Street” and the Bryan Library is daring you to face your greatest fears by taking part in this year’s Haunted Library event, held on October 25th and November 1st, from 7:00 to 11:00 pm. Filled with scream inducing twists and turns, the Haunted Library promises to be bigger and scarier than ever before!

This year, a special “Kiddie Show” will also be offered on Saturday, October 25th from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. The program is a non-scary version of the Haunted Library geared specifically towards young children. Fun games and snacks will be available!

All programs are free to the public, however free-will donations are appreciated. There will be snacks and refreshments provided for participants. The Bryan Library is located at 107 E. High Street. For more information, contact Devin Wagner at 419-636-6734 ext. 270.

Sci-Fi Author Alina Simon Book Signing

Award-winning screenwriter Alina Simon brings you a chilling new young adult novel The Shuffler Saga: Macki. Alina has been recognized in several international competitions for her thrilling feature-length screenplays. Her signing for Macki at the Bryan Main Library, located at 107 East High Street, will be held in Bookends Used Book Store on September 29th at 6:30 PM. Copies will be available for purchase, and giveaways will be announced.  
Alina lived in Bryan for twelve years, and, now at seventeen, she resides in the Los Angeles area with her family and two Chihuahuas, Taco and Bell.

Meet Author Greg Smith

Meet local author Greg Smith on Tuesday, September 30th from 6:00-7:00 pm at Bookends Used Bookstore inside the Bryan Library.  Mr. Smith is a writer of suspense novels, who currently has two titles published Holy Lotto and Wrong Left Turn. Greg has also just finished the book 3 Times the Sparrow, which will be available to purchase in late 2014. Mr.

Tour de Book

Sponsored by United Way of Williams County in conjunction with Williams County Public Library and Montpelier Public Library the Tour de Book Bicycling Event will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014.  This will be a 75 mile bicycle ride beginning at Bryan Library and traveling to every public library in Williams County. 
Registration begins at 8:00 am at the Bryan Main Library and the tour starts at 8:30 am. Libraries on the route will include: Bryan, Stryker, West Unity, Pioneer, Montpelier, Edon, and Edgerton.
Riders can also ride from Bryan to Montpelier, or Montpelier to Bryan, which is the length of 10.5 miles one way, or 21 miles round trip. This ride will also start at 8:30 am. Funds raised by this event will benefit the United Way Imagination Library, Williams County Public Libraries, and the Montpelier Public Library.
Rules for the event are as follows.
  • Both teams and individuals are allowed to participate.
  • Riders must be 18 or older to ride the entire 75 miles.

Carnegie Chapters -- Jeremy Ayers

On Saturday, September 6th musician Jeremy Ayers will perform as part of the Carnegie Concerts in the Carnegie room of the Bryan Main Library at 7:00 pm.
Jeremy Ayers is a local musician. Born and raised in Northwest Ohio, he has been performing in the community since 2007, and leads worship at two local churches. He has a Grassroots sound with a bend towards soulful songs. Jeremy explores songs about our need for a Savior and the response of the heart. He strives to find the balance between contemporary and bluegrass for the everyday person. For more info, check out emergingstreams.org for updates on his coming ep, or find him on social media.
The Carnegie Concert Series was created by Williams County Public Library as a way to showcase newer talent, both local and nationwide. Past concerts have featured the talented Whitney Mann and singer/songwriter David Jackson. Jeremy Ayers will be the third performer of the series.

Outside Movie Night

On Friday, August 15th, the popular children’s movie Frozen will be shown at 8:30 pm, outside the Bryan Main Library, on the parking lot side of the building. The whole family is invited to watch the movie, as well as enjoy a relaxing evening outdoors. You will need to bring your own lawn chairs or sleeping bags. Frozen is rated PG.
