Meet Local Children’s Author Bobbi Schlosser in Bryan

Pilgrim by Bobbi SchlosserLocal author Bobbi Schlosser has written and illustrated the book, Pilgrim and will be holding a book reading at the Bookends Used Bookstore at the Bryan Library Monday, November 4th at 6:30 pm. The book accounts the true Thanksgiving rescue of Mrs. Schlosser’s cat Pilgrim, who will also be visiting the library.

According to the author’s biography, “Bobbi is a training specialist at a facility for the disabled and operates the Art Department there. She is an accomplished artist and has won numerous awards and is the past president of the Black Swamp Art Guild. She has seven grandchildren, and she and her husband, Dave, along with Pilgrim and Lucy, live in a cottage by the creek that you see in the book. She hopes that her message of caring extends to all that read Pilgrim.”

"Our Town" Presented by Bryan High School

On Tuesday, October 29th the Bryan High School will perform scenes from their upcoming fall play, “Our Town” at the Bryan Library. The program will take place in the Carnegie Area of the Main Library from 6:00-7:00 pm.

If you would like a sneak peek at the outstanding production of “Our Town” by Bryan High School students, then make sure you stop in at the library and catch their performance. Snacks and refreshments will be available following the program. The Bryan Library is located at 107 E. High Street. Haunted Library in Bryan

Are you ready for the fright of your life? Then head over to the Bryan Library on Saturday, November 2nd , from 7:00-10:00 pm, and take part in this year’s spooktacular “Haunted Library” event.  Climb up the steps of the Main Library and await your fate in the mysterious Carnegie Hall. A guide will meet you there and then lead you over to the West Annex building and to your doom.  You will have to make your way through the halls of the eerie basement and come face to face with the library’s very own terrifying monsters. As you creep through the ghostly forest or the petrifying morgue you’ll need to watch every step, for you never know what could be lurking around the next corner. In order to escape the haunted library you must first survive a mad scientist and the forbidden prison as well as flee from witches, werewolves, and Count Dracula himself. So take a walk downstairs if you dare and meet the library’s scariest patrons. You’re not the only one who wants to check out a book.

Meet author Bob Nailor

Meet local author Bob Nailor on Tuesday, October 8 from 6:30-7:30 pm at the Bryan Library.  Mr. Nailor will be presenting his new book, “Ancient Blood, The Amazon” which   he co-wrote with Jack Franklin. It is a story of a legendary evil lurking in the jungles of Brazil. Filled with action and suspense, this vampire tale is a must read for the Halloween season. The program will be held in the Bookends used bookstore of the Bryan Library. There will be a book signing along with refreshments. The Bryan Library is located at 107 East High Street.
