Robotics Program

The Children’s Department of the Bryan Library will be holding a fun robotics program from Bowling Green State University presented by Professor Unsell on Thursday, July 24th at 11:00 am. The program is for students in grades 4-6, who are invited to come and learn the basic components of a robot, and how a robot can be directed to perform specific tasks. There will be a few simple hands on exercises with several videos that show different types of robots. Four demo robots will be available for students to identify the basic components of a robot and to test their skills in operation.

The Bryan Library is located at 107 E. High Street. For more information, contact Children’s Dept. manager Vickie Zippay at 419-636-6734 ext. 243.

Ike the Therapy Dog

Children are invited to come and read to Ike or just visit with him and sit and pet him, if they wish. Ike’s visits will allow students to practice the skill of reading in a relaxed environment. Having a therapy dog in the library builds excitement about reading and is a great opportunity for children to improve their reading skills.  For more information about Ike’s visits, please contact Vickie Zippay at 419-636-6734 ext. 243.

Author William J. Warner visits Bookends

Going Knee to Knee Author William J. Warner will be visiting the Bryan Library on Thursday, June 19th. He will be holding a book signing in Bookends Used Bookstore from 1:00-3:00 pm to promote his book, Going Knee to Knee: Confessions, Tales, and Tribulations from inside the FBI’s Polygraph Program,”
According to Tate Publishing, “William J. Warner takes you inside the polygraph suite, inside the minds of the polygraph examiner and his subjects. As the tension rises, feel the sweat on the brow and see the tears drop as conniving perpetrators give up the truth or spin their tales. Experience the villain weave a whopper of a fib in an effort to beat the box while FBI Special Agent Cy Donovan untangles the web of deceit through Knee-to-Knee interview and interrogation tactics commonly practiced throughout the world of polygraph.”
