Shatter reality at the Insurgent release party at the Bryan Main Library from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 21st. This teen program, for ages 10 to 15, celebrates the latest movie in the Divergent series. Teens will compete in challenges to determine if they are part of the Abnegation, Amity, Candor, Dauntless, or Erudite faction. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
The Bryan Main Library is closed on Saturdays will not be able to take phone calls. All parental arrangements should be made prior to the program. The Bryan Main Library is located at 107 East High Street. Please register for this event by calling the library Adult Desk at 419-636-6734 ext. 221.

A Young Artist Exhibit will be on display at the Children’s Department of the Bryan Main Library from March 15th through March 27th in celebration of National Youth Art Month. The exhibition presents the artwork of children from Bryan City Schools in grades Kindergarten through 5th in various media.

On Friday, March 20 at 7:00 pm the three-piece jazz band The Jalopy Brothers will perform as part of the Carnegie Concert Series at the Bryan Main Library. These events have limited seating so the library encourages attendees to arrive early. Doors will open half an hour before each show at 6:30 pm and will lock at 7:00 pm out of courtesy to the performer. All of the concerts are free to the public and are funded through donations.
The Jalopy Brothers’ concert will take place in the Carnegie area of the Main Library. Additional acts in the Carnegie Concert Series will be added as they become available. Interested performers should email firstname.lastname@example.org or call the library 419-636-6734 Ext. 239. The Bryan Main Library is located at 107 E. High Street.

The Bryan Main Library will be holding a Teen Movie Night on Friday, February 20th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, for ages 10 to 15 years old. Showing will be the classic tale, The Princess Bride which follow the adventures of true love between Westley and Princess Buttercup. With action, romance, giants, sword-fighting, and pirates, “The Princess Bride” is truly an inconceivable movie that has stolen the hearts of generations. Teens are invited to watch the show, enjoy popcorn, candy and drinks!
The Princess Bride is rated PG. The Bryan Main Library is located at 107 E. High Street and closes at 5:00 pm. The library will not be able to take phone calls after that time. Talented young artist, Levi Boulis will be exhibiting his artwork in the Carnegie Room of the Bryan Main Library through the month of February.
If you would like a chance to meet Mr. Boulis, stop by the library on Monday, February 9th. Levi will be greeting and socializing with guests in the Carnegie room of the library from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
A Bryan resident, Levi Boulis was always a great artist, but it was after receiving encouragement from his art teacher, that Levi discovered his innate ability for painting. Later, when Boulis had honed his skills, he set up the webpage leviboulis.com, which features a collection of his most popular work. This website gained the attention of many art lovers, particularly a gallery in London, who invited Levi to display his paintings at their upcoming art show, where his pieces received high praise and recognition. Today, Levi continues to create his signature original and vibrant paintings.

Don Allison, longtime editor of The Bryan Times, has recently published his first book, The Best of On My Mind: The Bryan Times Newspaper Columns of Don Allison. Don will be promoting his book at the Bryan Main Library on Monday, March 2nd from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.
Don will be speaking on the journey of becoming a published author at the grand re-opening of Bryan Library’s Bookends Used Bookstore, located on the second floor of the Main Library building. Mr. Allison will also be holding a book signing. Volumes of The Best of On My Mind will be at the program available to purchase. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
